Nine years on the lanes, every week. What stays with you is not the score but the routine: the same approach, the same release, repeated until your hand does it without your head.

The piano

The instrument I keep coming back to at home. Rarely a whole piece — more often the same eight bars until they sound the way I hear them in my head.

The record player

A suitcase model, big enough for exactly one side at a time. That is the point of it: you pick a record and stay with it until it ends.
